What Women Want, And What They Tell You (Part 1: Be Yourself)

Thursday, March 17, 2016
We call ourselves advanced. We possess the greatest technology known to mankind in our shortsighted view of history. We have modern medicine that boasts of having extended our lifetimes by decades without offering any proofs. It is claimed by scientists that chemistry has improved our quality of life while pumping humans, animals and the earth full of drugs, toxins, hormones and pesticides. We call ourselves enlightened while we invade other countries, killing, maiming, crippling, and sickening both troops and local populations with war, chemicals, radiation and hatred. We call ourselves advanced and intelligent, yet we are more superstitious than we have ever been.

We are afraid of everything from what we think we know to what we admit is unknown to us. We are afraid of the past, the future, and the present. We are afraid of authority, all the while trusting it. Of what we think we know, we only know what we have been told, and what we have accepted in our complacency as being the truth. The richness that imbues this natural world with infinite variety and vitality is in the hands of the few, and it is this world that we, including our political and corporate leaders, have turned our backs upon through ignoring it or misusing it. This richness is timeless, and

far more valuable than money. Money and its value is so meaningless when compared to life, and is demeaning to those who pursue it as an end in itself, and without due regard. It demeans those who cannot pursue their dreams for the need of it. Profit-seeking is implicit within it when applied to the business environment, and once within the large corporate arena it negates all ethics. Any society bereft of altruistic qualities will by its own means collapse. The true cultural richness that has lasted, if only in books and our memories, can still be lived and experienced, but we cannot see this because we don't have any true culture ourselves - our culture requires activities that must produce this one thing called profit, and anything else is near irrelevance. Our cultural superheros either wear Halloween costumes while saving the world, or are rich through frivolous activity that contributes barely to the world of entertainment. Ah, America - we are so young indeed.

We cannot conceive of a culture without this profitable quality, and quickly label something unlike us as primitive or barbaric. With this, we quickly lose the opportunity to understand these cultures because democracy (i.e. capitalism) runs rampant around the world destroying every remaining non-capitalist culture we have. We first destroy it, homogenize what is left, and put it quickly on-grid for profitable purposes. Admittably, as a people, we have our bursts of genius, but then we continue to crawl along at a snail's pace while the machine grinds on, faster and faster, speeding out of control. However, this monster will soon encounter an immovable force, and we are that force, but we must awaken to certain truths.

The fog generated by any illusionist's stage show was thick in the past, and reality was only visible to those who lived above this fog - those who lived upon the proverbial hill, but the fog thins now, and our eyes have begun to see the truth for what it is. Our vision improves daily by exposure to the true light of information and knowledge.

And what of conspiracy, and secret societies? Is what you know of them just more of the classic "disinformation" or knowledge reduced to rhetoric and mere superstition? All this perpetuates the fog surrounding the truth. That these organizations exist no longer matters - it is basic fact. We know that the Copperfields of the world cannot really make a passenger ship disappear into thin air, and we not fooled by the smoke and mirrors of our moneymonger's other illusions. These base methods of manipulation are not entertaining, and the show is no longer standing-room-only on Broadway- its' run is limited. The Conspiracy has no value, and doesn't matter to us - we are not profit-seekers.

Those who love to play the industrialist game of global Monopoly will soon be finished, and they will find that we are the winners because we refused to play their games. We will use our innate powers in clear and transparent ways, and by hiding nothing from anyone, we will remain uncorrupted. Those who misuse the power we all possess will be burnt by it - those who live by the sword will die by the sword.

Do you remember Albert Einstein? He said that we cannot solve any problem on the same level it was created. We all, the corrupt and uncorrupt, have access to the same universal powers, it is free, it is non-discriminatory, and it will serve all. Those who misuse it will experience certain hardship, while we can bring this power to a place of ethics, service and wisdom. We can solve the problems we face from a higher level. However, first we must know this actual power as it truly exists and functions, not just by the crude and demeaning way in which it has been used. We must practice the use of this power in simple ways, and then we become something more as a result of the experiences and wisdom we have gained by knowing the power itself. We will no longer mistake the finger pointing at the moon for the moon itself.

Those who use this power for their own personal gain while excluding others from this knowledge would have us believe this same power is actually evil, while they know differently - hence we have the most powerful myth of all. This is the myth of darkness and evil that must be avoided at any and all cost. This is a darkness that continues to threaten us, a darkness that continues to fulfill its promises to wreak havoc on this earth and ourselves on a daily basis. This dark force cannot even be mentioned without striking fear into the hearts of us all. We must avoid knowing anything of this power, for that will attract it to us. We dare not become educated and informed about this - so let's leave it to those who are trained to handle such things.

This evil ruins lives, and must be stopped. Of course, only the good-guys can do this, and we all know who the good-guys are, we've elected them. We need a hero, and they always step up to the plate for us- honorable men these are. They write the script, and they write in its hero. While someone saves us, while the battle continues between good and evil, we've forgotten how to dance.

Many men believe that women themselves ought to be the prime source of valid dating advice. After all, they should be the first ones to know what attracts them in a man's appearance and behavior. But is it really the case? My female friends invariably describe their latest fling using the following preliminary statement: "He is not really my type." When asked what exactly attracts them to someone who's not their type, it is not uncommon to hear: "He's got a certain something." Is it possible that women themselves could be rather confused about what really triggers attraction?

If this is true, then men should think twice before asking women how to act on a date or after how many days they should call someone back after an initial encounter. Not only they may not know but they might very well give advice based on their wishes rather than actual experiences. A study published in 2008 revealed that such personality traits as Narcissism, Machiavellianism and subclinical psychopathy cause attraction and facilitate short-term mating Strategy in men. James Bond would be a prime example of this. Yet, very few women will advise their friends to act as a self-obsessed psychopath on his next date. Neither will I.

Therefore, men should at least be circumspect when receiving advice pertaining to their love life from a woman. If I wanted to learn how to sell second-hand cars, I would rather ask the guy who has been selling them for 20 years rather than someone who just bought one. Alas, armed with the best intentions, women do and will continue to offer guidance to their male single friends. Let's review some of the most common tips you might have heard from your friends, exes and even mother over the course of a lifetime.

Be Yourself

This one is undoubtedly the number 1 recommendation anyone gives to their most desperate friends. It is a horrible piece of dating advice in the sense that it implies that no work or improvement whatsoever is required.

The truth is that in order to be confident and authentic, you will have to know yourself, love yourself and learn how to express yourself. This quest for self understanding and self acceptance is rarely achieved in a day. If you're an introverted geek whose free time is mostly spent playing World of Warcraft, being yourself just won't cut it.

You will have to take a good hard look in the mirror.

You will have to reinvent yourself to attract a girlfriend.

Hence, I believe that simply urging someone to be himself and hope for the best can be toxic in many cases. If I had to reformulate it, I would instead recommend aiming for authenticity. Indeed, bragging comes from a place of insecurity. It is simply obnoxious, disrespectful and leaves absolutely no room for the deep connection which is vital in healthy relationships.

Women do want a man who feels good about himself. Women want a man who can present himself and the episodes of his life in way that is captivating without resorting to lies or showing off.

Women want a man who can reveal vulnerabilities without a hint of self-pity.

This journey toward becoming the most attractive version of yourself start with one step.
Take it now.
